William “Bill” Prentice, Jr, 49, passed away February 28, 2020 in Frisbie Hospital, Rochester, NH after a 4-year battle with ALS with his wife by his side.
Bill was born June 22, 1970 in Rochester, NH, the son of William and Patricia (Lizotte) Prentice, Sr. He was a 1988 graduate of Noble High School and in 2002, coached baseball. Bill worked for Prime Tanning before driving a boom truck delivering drywall for many years, moving on to the City of Rochester, working as a light equipment operator-Senior Roads Scholar; retiring after ten years.
Billy liked spending time in the kitchen cooking and enjoyed drywalling. He had a great love of the outdoors including boating, fly fishing, ice fishing, hunting four-wheeling but most of all, hanging with all of his friends and family. He’ll be remembered for being a jokester and especially a wise ass. Billy was a caring, giving and gentle soul whose life was cut too short from ALS, but he lived his life to its fullest in spite of his diagnosis.
He was predeceased by his parents, William and Patricia Prentice and sister, Kelley McAloon. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Sheri V. (Winn) Prentice; sister Lori Prior; sisters-in law, Darlene Wick and husband Dan, Pam Patstone and husband Scott; stepdaughter Meghan Lane and her fiancé Phil Stock; step son, Zachary Lane; grandchildren, Addisyn, Gunnar, Kinsley Stock and Alexis H. His presence will also be missed by his dogs, Brutus and JJ.
A Celebration of Billy’s life is being planned. Please check back for further updates. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS Foundation for Life, P.O. Box 96, Natick, MA 01760 or www.alsfoundation.org/give/
