Wayne G. Goodwin (79) of North Berwick, son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Rogers)Goodwin of South Berwick, passed peacefully after a brief illness, in Boston on January 26, 2022, with family by his side.
Wayne was born in South Berwick, September 30, 1942. He served as a young man in the Army National Guard and spent his life working in local factories such as National Gypsum, Davidson Rubber, Dutchess Footwear, and Pratt and Whitney performing various jobs such as HVAC, shipping, receiving, and manufacturing before becoming disabled in 1990.
Wayne loved spending time with family, warm summer days sitting on his deck, or relaxing at the lake surrounded by “the kids”. He also enjoyed engaging in lively political debates, watching the evening news, and partaking in his daily afternoon naps.
Wayne is survived by the love of his life, his wife of fifty-eight years, Janis (Dagan)Goodwin, his two daughters Wendy Smith and partner Trippe of North Berwick and Tina Paker and husband Steven of Acton, his four grandchildren, Michelle Smith of Somersworth, Bradley Paker of North Berwick, Cassidy Paker of Farmington, ME, and Lucas Paker of Acton. Sisters, Jeanette Birch of Rollinsford, Cheryl Teves of Rochester, and Mary Ellen Gould of Lebanon, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends that he loved.
He is predeceased by his brother Gary Goodwin formerly of Cocoa, FL, sister Lois Anagnos formerly of Somersworth, and sister Lila Strout formerly of Rochester.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at Strafford Farms, 58 New Rochester Rd. Dover, NH, 1:00-3:00 on Saturday, February 12, 2022, in The Loft. Please come and share your fondest memories.
Private graveside services will be held at Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick in the spring for immediate family.
