Wanda Lee (Hayes) Ross

Biddeford – Wanda Lee Ross, 55,  passed away at home  August 4, 2025 surrounded by her family.  Wanda was born March 25, 1970  in Sanford, ME, daughter of James Hayes  and Judith Gallinari.   She was raised in Wells and attended schools there.  For several years, she worked at the Lafayette in Wells until her father’s failing health, when she decided to stay home to care of him until his death.  She continued caring for others who were in need.  Wanda worked for her daughter at “Toppings” for a period as well. 

Wanda enjoyed baking, swimming, bird watching but her heart belonged to spending time with her family, especially playing board games.   Her children and grandchildren were her world. 

Wanda is survived by her children; Matthew Ross and wife Monique;  Sierra Staples and husband Nicholas,  and Sophia Kinan of Biddeford and Kayla Ross of Portland; as well as  7 grandchildren; Daniel, Miles, Maddie, Matthew, Millie, Zander and Alex with #8 arriving soon; brother Steve Newhall and sister Tammy Newhall both of  Wells.
