Virginia Steeves Obituary

Virginia (Ginny) Esther (Spraker) Steeves passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery on September 30th 2021, she was 81 years old. Ginny was born on Feb 11th 1940 to Charles (Butt) Spraker and Gertrude Elizabeth (Stevens) Spraker, in Malden, MA. She briefly lived in California before moving to NH where she spent many years. She moved to Berwick, ME in the late 70s where she made her home. She was able to live her dream of having horses and see them every day out her window. She retired from The Somersworth Housing Authority, where she made many friends along the way.

Ginny loved to take adult education classes. She became a Master of Reiki, learned how to weave baskets and one of her favorites, making jewelry. You would never see her without jewelry on or her nails done.

When she was home, she loved baking, gardening and having family and friends over to play games. One of her favorites was Trivial Pursuit. She also loved playing card games, like SCAT and Cribbage.  She loved having her grandchildren over, checking out craft fairs, going to Pow Wows and so much more.

She loved traveling all over the country but the Southwest would be one of her favorites. She fell in love with the southwestern charm and decorated her home as such.

If you were lucky enough to know Ginny, you would always see a smile on her face and she would bring one to yours. She touched many lives along life’s journey.

She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Gertrude Spraker; husband Warren Steeves, sister Lorna Glavin, daughter Sharon Steeves Walters, granddaughter Corrin Walters and grandson Jared Greenlaw.

She is survived by her son Craig Steeves and his husband John Bigbie of Denver, PA; daughter Tracy Steeves Main and her husband Harold of Apopka, FL; grandchildren Amanda Steeves of Dothan  AL, Dominique Steeves of Dothan AL, Kristen Steeves of Dothan AL, Jeffrey Greenlaw of South Berwick ME, Danielle Steeves Wadell and husband Joseph of Dothan AL, Joshua Greenlaw of Sanford ME, Brianna Steeves Grayson and her husband  Wayne of Dothan AL, Brea Walters Moreno and her husband Dave of NH, and Jacob Greenlaw and his husband Geoff of Milton NH.
