Vera E. Jacques

Vera E. Jacques, 80 of New Durham, NH passed away at her home December 19, 2020 with  family by her side.

She was born March 2, 1940 in North Berwick, ME, daughter of Leo and Blanche (Morrill) Call and attended North Berwick Schools.

Vera worked for various shoe shops before raising her large family.  She loved providing for them and making their holidays as magical as she could.  As a family, they enjoyed swimming at the lake, hiking, beach trips and especially camping.  For many years, they had a seasonal spot they enjoyed.

Vera is survived by her husband, Ronald A. Jacques, Sr. of New Durham, NH; 5 sons, George Merchant, Jr and wife Carrie, Leo Merchant, of New Durham, Raymond Merchant and wife Martha of Somersworth, NH, Joseph Jacques of Rochester and Ronald Jacques, Jr of New Durham, NH; 5 daughters, Blanche Jacques of Ossipee, NH, Priscilla Melanson and husband Marty of Lebanon, ME, Louise Hapgood and husband Charlie of Lebanon, ME, Vernonica Cassell of Dover, NH and Samantha Cassell of Rochester, NH; one brother, Donald Call of New Durham, NH; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27 from 1pm to 3pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME.  Graveside services will be held at the Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick in the spring.  In compliance with COVID-19 regulations, masks WILL be required for the services.
