Tracy L. Winship passed away on August 10th, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born in Rochester, NH, the son of Bill and Drucilla (Lord) Winship and grew up in Berwick, ME and resided in North Berwick, ME for the past 40 years.
Tracy was a 1976 graduate of Noble High School where he truly enjoyed “The Glory Days” of playing football and basketball for the Knights.
One of his passions was cooking. Tracy attended and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in NY and became a Certified Chef. He used his degree and experience to run and own a restaurant, was the Executive Chef at Wentworth Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, Director of Food Services at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, NH and retired after being the Chef Manager at WEX Corporation in Portland, ME. In addition, he was an entrepreneur in his younger professional life and ran his own catering business, Winship Catering.
In his personal life, he enjoyed hunting on the family land, spring salmon fishing and ice fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee. The Winship camp on this lake was his get away retreat. It was a place to relax and have fun with family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Greg Winship and wife Jackie of Wells, ME; his brother Todd Winship and wife Cathy of North Berwick, ME; two grandchildren Sam and James Winship; nephew Jesse Winship and niece Libby Fitzgerald and husband Michael; and great nephews Will and Brady.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 15th, 2024, 12:00pm at the Evergreen Cemetery, 55 Cemetery Road, Berwick, ME.
