Terrance Edward Blaisdell, 77, of North Berwick, Maine, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, February 4, 2022, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Terry was born in Portland, Maine, on February 25, 1944, the son of Newman and Helen Blaisdell. He lived with his family in Ellsworth, Maine until 1958 and then moved to Kittery, Maine. He graduated from Robert W. Traip Academy in 1963, where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball as a varsity player as a freshman. After graduating from high school, he worked and learned his trade as a machinist at Barton’s Machine Shop in Kittery, Maine. In 1971 he started his career at General Electric in Somersworth, NH where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
On April 15, 1972, Terrance Edward Blaisdell married Madeline Anne Thibeau in Kittery, Maine. Terry, Madeline and their family made their home in Kittery until they moved to North Berwick, Maine in 1978. They were married for 38 years until her passing in October 2010. He remarried Janet LeBrun of Sanford, Maine in October 2012.
Terry enjoyed many years of hiking, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, cross country/downhill skiing and volleyball. He also enjoyed coaching his sons in little league baseball and Saturday morning basketball when they were children.
Terry was predeceased by his son, Robert Blaisdell, who died in 1997.
He is survived by his wife Janet Blaisdell of North Berwick, his sons, Jeff Blaisdell of Chicago and Mark Blaisdell wife, Amy, of Wells, ME. In addition, his grandchildren, Gage Blaisdell of Woodhaven, Michigan, Natalie and Daniel Blaisdell of Wells, ME. Also, his stepdaughters Michelle Sullivan, Debbie Falconieri, Angela L’Heureux and stepson Scott LeBrun and step grandchildren Jordyn and Jacob Sullivan, Luke Falconieri and Sophia L’Heureux He is also survived by two sisters, Sally Gray of Bath, ME and Lenora Raymond of Kingston, NH.
Services will be held during early spring 2022 for family and friends. Terry’s final wish was, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in either his or Madeline’s name for cancer research.
