Sage Poodry

Sage Poodry passed away October 2, 2024 in Petersham MA. His 68 years were filled with friendship, craftsmanship, and strong loving relationships with family. He was born in Akron, N.Y. to Leonard Poodry and Janie Walne Bramlett Poodry.

 The family moved from the Tonawanda Seneca Reservation to Memphis, Tenn., where he grew up. He attended Presbyterian Day School and East High school. After some time as a police officer with the City of Memphis, he moved to California, joining his uncle James Goolsby’s business in equipment manufacturing and general contracting. A highly skilled welder, he moved to Massachusetts in 1994, and then to North Berwick, Maine in 1998, and became an industrial electrician and active member of the IBEW, retiring in 2021.

Always a sports car enthusiast, he drove and exhibited his classic red AC Shelby Cobra for many years,  replacing it recently with a Porsche 968. A charming companion and devoted son, brother and friend, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sister, Deborah Poodry.

A time of visitation will be held Friday, October 11, from 12pm-1pm immediately followed by a funeral at 1pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, ME.  Interment in Hillside Cemetery, North Berwick, ME.  A gathering will follow at the Lady Mary Inn.  Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
