Rose Marie (Langley) Dawson

Rose M. (Langley) Dawson 73, of Madison Street, passed away peacefully at her home on January 1, 2026.

She was born September 30, 1952, in Waltham, MA, the daughter of William and Dorothy Rose (Irick) Langley.  Rose grew up in Waltham, MA, relocating to Maine in 1979.  She raised her two children on her sister’s farm, before moving to Sanford, Maine, where she lived for a few years before meeting Randall “Randy” Dawson. They moved to North Berwick in 1983, where they married and started their life together. Her early summers were spent at Sand Pond campground, where many fond memories were made. She loved kahlupin, her term for junk shopping; loved spending time with her sisters. They were all very close. Rose spent a lot of time with Randy in the garage doing body work, building motorcycles, car motors, as well as doing custom paintings and pin striping of both cars and motorcycles. They took part in many bike rallies and toy runs, strapping toys to the back of their motorcycles, and riding to different states to help children. Her crafting skills were phenomenal.  There was nothing she couldn’t cut out of wood. She was always in her hobby room, crafting, or sitting at her kitchen table painting. She also loved doing crafts with her grandchildren, baking and just spending time with them. She spent a lot of time with her granddaughter, Emily, while her mom worked. A favorite memory was taking their annual walk with Emily’s little red wagon in tow to the corner store for a bug juice.  Rose was a kind and loving wife, sister, Mom and Grammy; she will be sorely missed .

Over the years, Rose worked for various places including Sprague Electric, Marlee Animal Rescue, Lumpy’s and finally Allard’s Market., where she retired in mid 2000s.  She was known for her sarcasm, personality and wit. Everyone who knew her loved her. 

Rose was predeceased by her husband Randy in 2020.  Surviving is her daughter Jennifer Schofield and husband Justin of Sanford; Mark Bouvier and wife Susan of Shapleigh;  step-son, Ron Dawson and wife Gidget of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; 2 sisters, Alicia Langley and life partner, Marcia Vieira of Wells; Carol Langley and Kitty of North Berwick; 3 grandchildren, Emily Schofield and partner Brandon Walsh of Springvale, Kylee Bouvier and partner Ashtin Theriault of Lebanon, Maine, Nicholas Dawson of Parsons Kansas. As well as many others who called her mom, who she loved so dearly.

At her request, there will be no public services.  She will be buried with Randy at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale., at a later date, with a memorial to follow.
