Roger “Roge” Robinson Hincks, Sr. of North Berwick, ME, was born on June 16, 1924 and passed away on March 22, 2020 after a brief illness.
Born in Quincy (Wollaston) Massachusetts, moving soon thereafter to his beloved childhood home of Kents Hill, Maine, attended Kents Hill School, where his father was Headmaster. After serving in the Army/Air Corp, he moved to Worcester, Massachusetts, where he met his wife, Joyce, of 49 years before her passing in 2001. They raised their 3 children in Shrewsbury, MA.
Roger’s independent spirit kept him quite active over the years. He enjoyed returning to the hills of Maine often to visit his family and to attend the annual Kents Hill Reunion all while driving his convertible with the top down and wearing his flat cap. He enjoyed sports, especially the Patriots, jazz music and was also on a bowling team until 92. He will truly be missed by us all.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Edward and Arline; wife Joyce; son Glen; brothers Richard, William, Edward Jr. and sister Barbara.
Surviving are his sister Dorothy and her husband, Jay, eldest son, Roger Jr., daughter-in-law, Joan, daughter, Kerry, and husband, Mark. Grandchildren Rebecca and husband, Eric, Mark Jr, and wife Samantha, Jeremy, and wife, Lorena, Joshua and fiancé, Alexi. 9 great-grandchildren, Alex, Ariana, Elizabeth, Matthew, William, Elijah, Esther, Henry and Victoria. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Burial will take place at Kents Hill Cemetery in Kents Hill, Maine. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Johnsons Funeral Home of North Berwick, ME are handling arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
