Robert W. Stewart, 72 of Sanford passed away July 6, 2023 in Maine Medical Center after complications from surgery.
Bob was born in Sanford, ME, February 3, 1951, the son of David and Margery (Clough) Stewart and graduated from Noble High School before proudly serving in the United States Navy.
Upon returning home, Bob married Donna Wyman, raising their two children in North Berwick. For most of his life, Bob was a self-employed carpenter. He loved motorcycles and loud music. Bob loved tinkering on things and keeping busy as well as hunting and fishing.
Bob was pre-deceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Donna (Wyman) Stewart and second wife Susan Stewart. He will be forever missed by his son, David Stewart of Acton, daughter, Amy (Stewart) Brown and husband Brian of North Berwick, adopted daughter Barbara Stewart of Sanford; 4 brothers, David “Butch” Stewart of Sanford, Richard Stewart and wife Babette of North Carolina, Daniel Stewart of Sanford and Jim Stewart of Somersworth, NH; sister Margaret Kilgore and husband Andy of Somersworth, NH; 8 grandchildren, Christina Rand-Heidenstrom and husband Joshua, Alyssa Julian, Emily Julian, Ava Stewart, Nicholas Ferry, Aurora Hodgdon, Jake and Shane Beal; 3 great-grandchildren, Kaiden Julian, Owen and Jax Rand; many nieces and nephews and girlfriend, Karen Passon.
A time of visitation will be held Thursday, July 20th from 4-6pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME. Interment Tuesday, July 25 at 1pm in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road, Springvale, ME
