Bob was born on February 27, 1941, in Biddeford, ME, to Alcide and Luciana (Duguay) Desrochers. He was an “Army Brat” and was raised in Virginia; the Philippines; Trieste, Italy; and New York City before settling in North Berwick, ME at the age of 11, where he quickly made many friends. Bob loved being outdoors. North Berwick is where his love for hunting and fishing began. He graduated from North Berwick High School where he excelled at basketball and baseball.

After high school, he began working for the Schiller Station (PSNH) in Portsmouth, NH, while still working on weekends for Howard LaBreck. He transferred to the Somersworth branch of PSNH (Public Service Company of NH) where he worked until he retired in 1998. Bob also had a sawmill that he and his son operated together for many years.
Bob married his high school sweetheart Carole (Steves) in 1958 and they began their family. After several years, they purchased and renovated a 200-year-old farmhouse. Many fond memories were made gardening and raising many different animals on their sustainable farm.
He was a friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone when needed, whether it was building a house or giving a ride to someone.
Bob was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Carole, and his three brothers. He is survived by his daughters, Dawn of North Berwick; Barbara (Joel) Hilton; Bonnie (Scott) Emmons; and a son Robert Jr. (Bonnie), all of North Berwick; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
