Rene P. Durand

Rene Durand,, a resident of  North Berwick, died peacefully at home on September 05 , 2019.  Rene was born in Sanford Maine on June 29, 1941, a son of Roland and Fluerette (Tourigny) Durand, and attended St. Martin’s Academy in Somersworth, N.H.

He was the manager of Bretons Cleaners of Somersworth, N.H. for  32 years until they merged with Ossipee and Wolfeboro Cleaners where he worked another 13 years until his retirement.

Rene enjoyed camping and he loved to be by the ocean, he especially enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Florida to visit his great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother Norman Durand.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra (Boston) Durand of North Berwick; daughter, Robin Moore and her husband Kevin of North Berwick; three grandchildren, Amy Beaupre and her husband Joshua of St. Johns Florida, Brittany Alves and her husband Derek of Old Orchard Beach and Aaron Moore and his wife Katelyn of Sanford  Maine.  Two brothers, James Durand and his wife Paula of Berwick, Daniel Durand and his wife Velma of Berwick and sister in law Jacqueline Durand of Berwick.  Six great grandchildren, Devin  Grace Cooper Carly Harper and Amelia.  Many beloved nieces and nephews and two very special friends Wayne and Carol Countryman.

A graveside service for close family and friends will be held at the  Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME.  Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
