Rachel Dupuis Obituary

Rachel Goudreau Dupuis,87, of North Berwick Maine passed away peacefully at her farmhouse on Tuesday October 18, 2022. She has joined her beloved husband, Joseph R Dupuis (2019) into the next phase.

The daughter of Alfred and Aurora Goudreau, Rachel was born in Biddeford Maine on March 19, 1935. She was the oldest of 5 children.

On March 31, 1951, she married the love of her life, Joseph. In 1956 they settled in North Berwick where they raised six children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend!

Rachel was a mother to everyone. You walked into her house and felt her love in the form of homemade cooking- her homemade soup or classic baked bread was a favorite for many. Nothing made her happier than having the family around the kitchen table. The kitchen was a place where laughs were shared, cards were played, home cooked meals, and memories.

She was the glue that held the family together during the most difficult of times. Her family gathered on her lawn for some wiffle ball or a classic game of croquette. Her farm porch was one of her favorite spots.

She is survived by her children Robert Dupuis and his wife Linda of North Berwick, David Dupuis and his wife Nancy of West Newfield, Michael Dupuis and his wife Katharine Booth of Eliot; and their daughter, Donna Flint and her husband Daniel of Sanford, daughter-in-law, Susan Hatch Dupuis of Kennebunkport and her sister, Claire Binette of Biddeford. She has 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sons Roger Dupuis, 1995 and Alan Dupuis, 1996.

A celebration of life will be held Monday October 24th at 11 am at the Sanford Elks Lodge 13 Elm St, Sanford, ME 04073, followed by a gathering for friends and family. Burial at a later date in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Springvale, ME.
