Priscilla Heitmann, 78, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Priscilla and Roy Fernald, Priscilla was born in Bangor, Maine, in 1944.
She graduated from the University of Maine at Machias, and spent the majority of her career teaching at the Village Elementary School in York, Maine. Priscilla's first teaching job in Maine was at the Cape Neddick School, where she was also the principal. In the early 1970's she co-owned the Sands Motel and The Basket Shop in downtown York Beach, Maine with her husband, Peter. Along with her family, she enjoyed music, watching tennis, and had a love for traveling the world with her husband.
Priscilla is predeceased by her husband Peter, by her mother, Priscilla Pyle, her father Roy Fernald, stepfather Wesley Pyle, and nephew Adam Sherlock.
Priscilla is survived by her sons, Erik Heitmann and wife Bethany of North Berwick, ME; Justin Heitmann of Barrington, NH; sister Elizabeth Sherlock and husband David of Gray ME and their children; Kyle, Elizaveta, and Elena; cousin Worth Douglas of Brighton MA; and her grandchildren Eva, Sidney, and Althea.
SERVICES: A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the First Parish Federated Church, 150 Main Street, South Berwick, ME. Online condolences can be expressed at www.johnsonfuneralhomeme.com.
