Pauline (Polly) B. (Lands) Staples

Pauline (Polly) B. (Lands) Staples, 89 of Sanford, ME passed away peacefully on June 12, 2020 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough, ME.

She was born September 30, 1930 in Fairlee, VT.  Polly was an LPN for over 30 years, beginning her career at the North Berwick Nursing Home and retiring from the H. D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford in 1992.

Polly and her husband, Eugene, enjoyed camping and family gatherings.  She loved being in the presence of the ocean.  She and her girlfriends enjoyed their special times together for breakfast and lunch. She was active in the Sanford Baptist Church.  In 2000, Polly underwent a 6-way bi-pass and valve repair that almost took her life.  But she was a strong woman who blessed her family with another 20 years of love and laughter.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Eugene Staples; daughter, Brenda Staples and great grandson, Jason Staples.  She will be sorely missed by her 3 sons, Bruce Lands and wife Cara of Blackfoot, Idaho, Brian Lands and wife Michele of Arundel, ME, Larry Staples and wife Kris of Lebanon, ME; 3 daughters, Judy Perry, Karen Scarponi and husband Paul, Margo Martel and husband Steve all of Sanford, ME; a brother, Junior Ward and sister, Joan Spiers and husband Cliff as well as 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19 at 10am in the Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick, ME.
