Pauline R. (Mondor) Murphy

Pauline Murphy of North Waterboro, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on September 17, 2024 after a long illness at the age of 83. Pauline was born July 5, 1941 in Saco, Maine to Henry and Lucienne (Lizotte) Mondor, she was one of five children.  

Pauline grew up in Saco, speaking both French and English, attending local schools and Thorton Academy. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her passions were her family, taking cruises, gardening, sewing and game night playing cards, dominoes and trivia with family. Family was everything to her, she would never miss a holiday or opportunity to have a cookout or family outing. Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorite holidays, she would have a huge spread for all to enjoy and would make pies for days. Pauline never missed a Memorial Day to place flowers on the graves of her family she loved so much. Pauline had many special friends. There wasn't a day that went by that she did not call family members or friends to check in on them; she was like the coconut telegraph to keep everyone informed.

Pauline loved the nostalgia of Maine; picking blueberries, strawberries and apples, and enjoying lobster rolls and fresh vegetables. She looked forward to her sisters day each year, a day very special to her. Pauline loved Hills Beach in Biddeford Pool where she made many memories with her children, grandchildren, and her siblings and their families. She also enjoyed Sunday rides through the New Hampshire Mountains and Vermont, and traveling to other areas. Pauline's love for burgers, fries and Chinese food made her and her family smile.

She worked for 25 years at Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick and retired in 2006; and prior to she worked at Shape in Biddeford. Pauline was a hard worker, doing her best was important to her. Pauline was active in the over 50 club, the Pratt & Whiteny Breakfast Club, and the car club with her 66 Chevy Lemans convertible. She loved to drive around in it with her late husband Harold Murphy, who was the love of her life. 

Her family would like to thank Angela, her caregiver, who took excellent care of her over the last 4 years, and the team from the Gosnell Hospice House for helping her pass with dignity, peace, love, and respect. 

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Raymond Monroe, second husband Harold Murphy, two sons Raymond Monroe and Mark Monroe, and granddaughter Caitlin Bigelow.

She is survived by her siblings, Sister Cecile PM Mondor, Simonne Hight and her husband Ralph, Donald Mondor and his wife Michelle, Roger Mondor and his wife Sandy. Her children, David Monroe and his wife Faith, Sharon Huntley and her husband Preston, Shirley Bigelow, Michael Monroe and his wife Suzanne, Nicole Damato and her husband David, and son in-law Eric Bigelow. Her grandchildren, Corey Bigelow, Christopher Bigelow, Cain Johnson, Alexandria Lauritzen and her husband Erik, Timothy Cole and his girlfriend Helen Chute, Vincent Cole, Shelby Monroe and her fiancé Chad Vadnais, Mariah Bafile and her husband Evan, Savannah Brook, Madison Brook, Tucker Fortier, Ryan Damato, and David Weeks, his wife Rachael and their children. Her great grandchildren, Andria Lauritzen, Kaydence Glover, Skylar Cole, Cohen Vadnais, Violette Drews, Spencer Vadnais, Grady Bafile and Gavon Chase. Several nieces and nephews and their families, extended family members, and many dear and special friends.

All are welcome to join her family on October 19, 2024 for a Celebration of her Life. To be held at the Ossipee Mountaineer Snowmobile Club, 265 Old Alfred Road, East Waterboro, ME from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Casual attire, she would want everyone to be comfortable, relaxed, and to enjoy each other’s company without all the stuffiness!
