Paul J. McGovern

Paul J. McGovern, 68, of Great Works Drive passed away June 17, 2020 at his home after a period of failing health.

He was born June 7, 1952 in Cambridge, MA, the son of Thomas and Helen (Rafferty) McGovern and graduated Tewksbury High School then attended Lowell Tech, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Plastics Engineering.

Paul worked for several places in the Engineering field including Norelco  in Massachusetts then eventually retiring from Corning in Kennebunk, ME as a purchasing manager.

Paul was a “motorhead” who enjoyed working on cars.  He was the proud owner of a 1969 Camaro that he bought brand new and still owned.

Paul was pre-deceased by his daughter, Kellee (McGovern) Stobe and the mother of his children, Joan (Olsen) McGovern.  Surviving are his son, Timothy McGovern of Sanford, ME; son in law Chris Stobe of York, ME, 3 brothers, David McGovern of Orange, CA, Kevin McGovern of Dewey Humbolt, AZ, Joseph McGovern and his wife Shelley of Orange, CA; 2 sisters, Margaret McGovern of Orange, CA and Diane McGovern of Anaheim, CA; and 2 grandsons, Jesse and Andrew Stobe of York, ME.
