Patrick Libby Hayes

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick (Pat) L. Hayes, on January 13th, 2025, at the age of 62.

Pat was born on February 21, 1962, in York, the son of Walter and Myrtle (Tufts) Hayes. Pat grew up in Wells and attended Wells Schools.

He worked for Juniper Hill Inn as the groundskeeper for the past 26 years.  There he made many connections and formed lasting friendships with co-workers and guests.  He took great pride in his work and the property showed just that.

Pat was a quiet guy and loved the outdoors, camping and hiking; but his biggest passion was riding his bike, He loved to ride.  He took his last trip on his bike just a few short weeks ago around the cul-de-sac where he lived, before his body was no longer able to keep up with him.  In years past, he and his son enjoyed many Epic trips to the White Mountains as well as many bike parks; Bear Brook, Kingdom Trails and Stratham Park just to name a few.  A lifetime of purpose and passion that they both enjoyed together.

Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Myrtle Hayes. His brother, Jim Hayes and Nephew Walter Worthing and Great Niece, Sara Worthing. 

Surviving is his Son, Joshua  Hayes of Lanai City, Hawaii; Daughter Jessica Naughton of Sanford, ME; Granddaughters, Maci and McKenna of Kennebunk, ME; Sisters, Jean Welch and Jolene Hayes both of Wells, ME; Nephews, Shawn Hayes of Wells ME; Jim (Renee) Worthing of Shell Knob, Missouri; Darrell (Jenn) Worthing of Rochester, NH; Niece Cheryl Worthing of Sanford, ME and Wanda Hayes of Biddeford, ME.  In addition to many great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation for the love, care and support provided by Robyn Reeves, Monica Blake and Heather Staples this past year.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, January 23 from 4pm to 6pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick.  Patrick was laid to rest at the Cedar Brook Burial Ground in Limington, ME.
