Patricia Eileen (Hamm) Wattles

Berwick ME 

Patricia E. Wattles of Berwick, ME & Somersworth, NH, passed away May 14, 2025.  

She was born in Jacksonville, Floridia on October 4, 1934.  

Patricia was educated in Berwick, ME and Somersworth, NH schools then worked at General Electric, before moving to Orlando, Florida where she worked in a telephone office.  From there, she joined the United States Army, serving from 1960-1963.  For most of her life, she was an adult caregiver and also cared for children and animals. 

She was a member of the First Parish Church in Somersworth, NH where she taught Sunday School for several years.  Patricia was a charter member of Women in Military, Washington, D.C. and U.S. Army Women’s Foundation, Fort Lee, VA.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in South Berwick and Sarah Orne Jewett where she held several stations of office and the Cocheco Valley Humane Society where she received several awards for her volunteer work. 

Among her many interests was writing poetry; several of which were published in the Library of Poetry, Ocean Mills, Maryland. Pat also had an immense love of all animals. Especially her beloved cats.

Patricia is survived by her son, Mason Wattles Jr. and his wife Michelle of Berwick, ME. Jared Carpenter of Berwick, ME. Two grandsons, Christopher Wattles of Berwick, ME. Dylan Wattles of Lebanon, ME and a granddaughter Olivia Wattles of Berwick, ME. Three great grandchildren, Mason Wattles, Harper Wattles, Colton Wattles. A nephew Allen Kelly-Hamm and his husband Miles, two nieces, Bonnie Burns and her husband John, Darshanna Brooks and her husband Jeff, and her dear friend Leona Creighton.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society in Dover NH.
