Nancy Carol (Pelletier) Gaskell

Nancy Pelletier Gaskell, 81, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Sanford, Maine, a beloved matriarch and joyful soul whose laughter and warmth touched everyone around her, passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2025. Nancy’s vivacious spirit and loving heart made every gathering brighter, and her family and friends were the center of her world. She will be remembered as a treasure, a guiding light, and a true source of happiness for all who knew her.

Nancy was born in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of Andrè and Marie Pelletier. She married Raymond Gaskell in 1962, and together they made their home in Sanford ME, where they raised their two children. Nancy worked for Sprague Electric for many years before retiring to Florida following her husband’s passing in 2001.

She later found joy and companionship with her devoted partner, James Anderson, with whom she shared 22 wonderful years. Together, they built a beautiful life in The Villages, embracing the Florida lifestyle, golfing, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying countless cherished moments together.

Nancy was known for her contagious laughter, her welcoming smile, and her ability to make others feel loved and valued. She will be remembered as the heart of her family and a true friend to many.

She is predeceased by her husband, Raymond, of 40  years of marriage. She is survived by her loving partner, James Anderson; her son, William Gaskell; her daughter, Veronica Stevens and husband Jason; her grandchildren—Ryan, Leah, Amber, and Kayla; her 6 great-grandchildren.

Nancy’s legacy lives on in the lives of those she loved, and her family takes comfort in knowing her spirit will continue to guide them.

Visiting hours will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, Maine, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Holy Family Church, Sanford, Maine, at 1 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Sanford, Maine.
