BERWICK, ME
Milton R. Mayberry, 88, of Berwick, passed away in Wentworth-Douglas Hospital May 2, 2024.
He was born March 8, 1936 in Lewiston, ME, the son of Kenneth and
Theo (Purington) Mayberry. Milton’s father was a herdsman, which kept the family moving around a lot. He proudly served in the United States Army before returning back to the Berwick area in 1964 and bought the family farm where he raised his family.
Milton worked most of his life as a side laster in the local Shoe Shops. He was also a self-employed dairy farmer and delivered flowers for C & F Florist. Most of all, he was a hardworking provider for his family.
Milton was a very faithful servant to his Lord and loved to share the message with others. He loved spending time with his ever-growing family at picnics, Cliff Island and Pidgeon Hill.
He and his wife were members of the Rochester 7th Day Adventist Church.
He was pre-deceased by his twin brother, Kenneth Mayberry, son in law Daniel Russell, daughter in law Emma (Keaton) Mayberry. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Charlotte (Record) Mayberry of Berwick; 3 sons, Randy Mayberry of Arizona, Eric (Carole) Hefty of South Berwick, Scott (Tina) Mayberry of Woodsville, NH; 4 daughters, Crystal (Richard) Dixon of Lebanon, Bonnie Mayberry and significant other Richard Staples of Berwick, Candice Mayberry, Kimberly Mayberry of Berwick; 16 grandchildren, Christopher, Amy, Matthew, Rachel, Scott, Jr, Cameron, Holland and Destiny Mayberry, Richard, Keith and Ryan Dixon, Michael and Trista Bartlett, Amber Rossi, Amanda and Micah Russell and several great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, May 6 from 10 am to 11am immediately followed by a funeral service at 11am at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME. Burial in the Mayberry private cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
