Michele Jacqueline (Melanson) Griner was born on September 22, 1948. She attended Mexico High School graduating with honors in 1966. Her senior year she was presented with the DAR award, to which she and her family were very proud of. This Good Citizenship award recognizes one high school senior who possess qualities of dependability, service, and leadership.
After high school she entered the University of Bridgeport Connecticut where she earned an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology and soon began a career as an X-ray Technician. She met her future husband Jerry Griner while attending college in Connecticut. They soon married in 1970in Newport News, Virginia where she was later employed as a lens maker as an Optometrist Assistant. In 1985 they became proud parents of a baby girl name, Stacy, who was the highlight of her life. They eventually moved to Sanford Maine where she pursued her greatest desire of being a Piano Teacher. Being a highly skilled pianist throughout the years, Michele was able to share her gift to many younger up and coming musicians. She was very proud of all their accomplishments. Last, but definitely not least, was her pride and joy, Annika, her granddaughter. Annika was a precious gift and a never-ending source of joy! She filled her life each day, with an abundance of smiles and laughter and was very thankful for their time together.
