Mark Samuel Briley (1939-2025)
Mark Samuel Briley, of North Berwick, 85, passed away on August 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 10, 1939 in York, Maine, a son of the late Joseph A. Briley and mother, Mary L. Littlefield. Mark lived a life defined by courage, strength, and perseverance developed at an earlier age from his late grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Seavey
Despite facing numerous challenges, Mark never wavered in his love for his family or his commitment to living life fully. He was a devoted husband to Patricia Louise Smith of 38 years, a loving father to son, Christopher Briley of Cape Neddick, Maine “Thanks for always believing in us.” and step children Robin Merrill from North Berwick, Maine and Carl Merrill, Jr. from Berwick Maine and a doting grand-father with much steadfast love for his many grand-children and great grand-children.
Born in York Maine, Mark attended Wells High School where he enjoyed his studies, as well as, his enthusiasm for playing basketball. While attending school, he developed an early passion for the outdoors by pursuing a long life career as an arborist, self employed contractor as a landscaper and painter, with hobbies that included hunting and fishing.
