Louis A. Thibodeau, Sr. 93, went to be with our Lord and his beloved wife, Grace on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. He was born in East Winn, ME on October 2, 1926, son of Ned and Blanche (Bartlett) Thibodeau.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He served in the Philippines, Burma and was in Tokyo Harbor during the peace signing.
He married Grace M. Morgan in June 1947 and retired after 36 years at the Pease Air National Guard Base in Portsmouth, NH.
Louis loved to spend time fishing, hunting and woodworking. He and his wife wintered in Myrtle Beach for 18 years. His most memorable trip was visiting friends in Michigan and touring the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
Louie is survived by 2 sons, Louis “Butch” Thibodeau, Jr. of North Berwick and Corey Thibodeau of Sanford; 3 daughters, Gail Cutter of Wells, Julie Lemieux of Sanford and Lori Eilers of Somerville, TX; 3 sisters, Vera Porter of Port Jervis, NY, Kathy Gammon of Limerick, ME and Sharon Libby of Sanford, ME; 1 brother, Lawrence Thibodeau of Sanford, ME; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A time of Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30 from 6-8pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME. Graveside services will be held at 1PM on October 2, 2020 at the Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport, ME.
