Leonard Newton Obituary

Leonard S. Newton, 59, of Sewall Shores Road, passed away peacefully November 23, 2024 in Wentworth-Douglas Hospital with his brother by his side.

He was born March 31, 1965 in Bitburg, Germany, the son of Donald and Dianne (Jones) Newton.  He grew up in Maine, graduating from Noble High School in Berwick, Class of 1983.

Lenny was a professional photographer who especially loved taking portraits and landscapes.  He took many pictures of nature during his hikes.  In his later years, Lenny honed in on his love of cooking, lovingly known as Chef Lenny.  He especially loved experimenting with recipes from Julia Childs and Gordon Ramsey, cooking for all the family gatherings at the lake.

Lenny also enjoyed his daily coffee time with sister-in-law Tina and their dogs, Sassy, Norma and Wilma.  He also enjoyed exploring the lake on his jet ski.  Lenny had high hopes of being able to climb Mount Chocorua again, but sadly, he wasn’t able to make that happen.

Lenny is survived by his brothers, Ken Newton and wife Tina of Lebanon, and Shawn Newton and wife Joy of Florida; his companion Gracie Williams of Dover, NH; his father’s wife, Dottie Newton of North Berwick; step-grandson, Lincoln Holman of Rochester, NH; nieces and nephews, Josh, Michael, Nicole, Kane and Knox Newton, Travis Quint, Miranda (Quint) Zenga; great nieces and nephews, Peyton and Lilly Zenga, and Blakely Quint.

At Lenny’s request, there will be no public services.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, ME where condolences and memories may be shared at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
