Lawrence (Larry) LeBlanc Obituary

Lawrence M. (Larry) LeBlanc, 59, of North Berwick, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2018 in Mass General Hospital.

Larry was born in Sanford, ME, March 31, 1959, son of Hilarion and Lucie (LaChance) LeBlanc.  He graduated Noble High School then  Larry served in the U.S. Navy as an Air Craft Mechanic; retiring after 16 years of service.

During his time in the Navy, Larry married the love of his life, Melca Magbanua.  When he returned to the states, Larry finished college, earning his degree in Pollution and Abatement.  He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft  as well as the Water Treatment Facility in North Berwick.  Larry was proud to be an advocate for Veterans Rights as well as the cannabis community.

He was raised in Maine where he loved camping, hunting and  fishing.  He and his dad Larry made many memories especially on a fishing trip to Labrador.

Larry will be fondly remembered for his supportiveness and love for his family, especially his devotion to his wife, Melca and their family in the Philippines.  Family came first always in his life.

Larry is pre-deceased by his father, Hilarion LeBlanc. He will be sorely missed by his wife of 35 years, Melca (Magbanua) LeBlanc of North Berwick; his mother, Lucie (LaChance) LeBlanc of Shapleigh, ME; his sister, Denise McKeown and her husband Doug of Shapleigh, 2 sons, Jerry Magbanua and Jonathan D’Alvia both of North Berwick; niece Krista  Kenney and her husband, Billy of North Berwick as well as  many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews in the U.S. and the Philippines.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 7, from 6pm to 8pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME.  Burial with military honors will be held on Tuesday, January 8 at 11AM at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, ME followed by a potluck at the home of Krista, Billy and Melca. Memorial donations may be made to the Sanford Vets Center,  628 Main Street, Springvale, ME 04083 Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, ME.
