Kristi Dionne Obituary

Kristi Nancy Dionne, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 40, surrounded by her loved ones.

Kristi, born on January 18, 1985, in Biddeford, Maine, to Karen and David Dionne. She was born with spina bifida. Despite the odds, she defied expectations and lived a remarkable life. Kristi spent most of her childhood in and out of hospitals, but her indomitable spirit shone through. Kristi was known for her sassy and loving nature-qualities that made her unforgettable to those who knew and loved her. Kristi graduated from Wells High School in 2003. There, she met her lifelong friend, Mike Casey.

Her mother affectionately nicknamed her “supergirl” for her strength and grace in the face of adversity. Kristi’s resilience was evident in her ability to find joy in the simple things, even amidst her struggles. She found solace in crafting, often thinking of others while creating her beautiful creations. Her love for giving gifts was evident in her thoughtful and heartfelt gestures especially at Christmas time, which was her favorite time of the year. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was watching movies, playing her favorite video games like Disney dream light valley, Sims, Jurassic World, Solitaire, and Mahjong on her laptop or xbox with her brother DJ, winning at Skip-bo against her mother, taking trips to the Casino, sewing with care, or listening to her favorite music, Kristi embraced each moment with enthusiasm.

She was an avid NASCAR fan and could often be found cheering on her favorite drivers, especially Chase Elliott. In fact, she even named her dog after Chase. She was incredibly proud of her dog, Chase. She had trained him all by herself and made sure he always had his homemade snacks and meals.  Her passion for entertainment extended to all forms of media; she loved immersing herself in stories on screen and through song. Her hobbies reflected a playful and creative soul who valued connection and comfort. Even during her cancer treatment, Kristi’s passion for music remained undiminished. She yearned to become a music teacher and enjoyed singing a wide range of songs, from church hymns to her favorite boy band and artist, “The Backstreet Boys” and “Nick Carter.”  Kristi’s love for singing was infectious. Kristi, a devout Christian, attended The First Baptist Church of Springvale. She thoroughly enjoyed singing the hymns and expressed her belief in going to heaven.

Kristi’s final year was spent primarily in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. Her dreams were filled with the prospect of escaping the cold Maine weather and experiencing the warmth of Florida’s sunshine. It was her unwavering goal to embark on this journey as soon as she regained her strength and health, a trip that she was planning with her mother.

Kristi is lovingly remembered by her mother, Karen Dionne; her father, David Dionne; her sister, Olivia Hackett; her brother, David Dionne Jr.; her nephews, Darren Dionne and Tyler Dionne; and her great-nephew, Mason Dionne. Her presence will also be missed by many others whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Louis and Aline Dionne, and Elaine and Harold Hilton.

A celebration of Kristi’s life will be held at a later date.
