Judith E. (Day) Suitter

Judith E. Suitter, 62, of Rochester Street, went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2021 in Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a battle with cancer.

 She was born July 24, 1959 in Dover, NH, the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Bond) Day. Judy was a 1977 graduate of Marshwood High School.  In 1976, she married Leland N. Suitter, Jr.  They raised their children in South Berwick while Judy continued to care for other children in her home.

 Judy worked many years in retail, retiring as the Supervisor of the Front End for Toys R Us.

 Family was her primary focus. Her children and grandchildren were her world.  She loved spending time with her family at Milton Three Ponds and York Beach.  She collected angels of all kinds, but especially Willow Tree Angels and snow babies.  She was a member of the Eliot Baptist Church, where she enjoyed involving her family in the activities.

 Judy was pre-deceased by her parents; her brother Herbert Day, Jr.; her sister, Lois (Day) Gray.  Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Leland N. Suitter, Jr. of Berwick; a son, Leland Suitter III and his wife Caroline of Schroon Lake, NY; two daughters, Stacey Shaw-Tobin and husband Kirk of South Berwick and Mindy Durepo and her husband Tom of South Berwick; a brother Robert Day Sr., and his wife Laurie of Goose Creek, SC and 16 grandchildren, Daniel, Parker Cameron, Sarah, Jayde, Tyler, Andrew, Ryan, Kamden, Zoey, Cayla, Chase, Lucas, Thomas, Drake and Riley.

 Visitation will be held Friday, November 12 from 10am to 12pm at the Eliot Baptist Church, 912 Dow Highway, Eliot, ME where a funeral will immediately follow at 12noon.  Private interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in South Berwick, ME.  In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up to assist the family by sending donations to the Johnson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 475, North Berwick, ME.
