Joyce A. (Smith) Berry

Joyce A. (Smith) Berry, 61 passed away November 24, 2021 at the Hyder House after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 3, 1960 in Sanford, ME, the daughter of Ronald and Barbara (Westgate) Smith. Joyce grew up in North Berwick, graduating from Noble High School in 1979.  She raised her two children in North Berwick before moving to Milton, NH.  Joyce shared her big heart with others as she cared for the elderly and special needs children for many years.

Joyce had a vivacious personality and a great love of music.  She enjoyed singing and played a mean guitar.  She relished in the chance to teach her grandchildren how to cook, especially her famous molasses cookies.  She was also crafty; everyone received beautiful homemade Christmas ornaments. She loved the waves, the sound and everything about the ocean.  Mostly, Joyce loved family and being Nana.

She was predeceased by her parents.  Joyce will be sorely missed by her son Derek Berry and wife Katie of Rochester, NH; daughter Jessica McCrellis and husband Matt of Rochester, NH; daughter Bobbi Jo Smith and husband TeJay of Lebanon; 3 brothers, Eugene Dunlap of Dracut, MA, Fred Smith of Sanford and Michael Smith, Sr. of Springvale; 5 sisters, Sheila Marshall and Sandra Alexandre of Spring Hill, FL, Deborah Fogg of Brooksville, FL, Peggy Dunlap of Waterboro and Pamela Quimby of Lebanon.  Her love will live on thru her 5 grandchildren, Leo Brown, Mia McCrellis, Braya Smith, Dawson Smith and Ellie Berry.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday December 3, 2021 from 3pm to 5pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME immediately followed by a memorial service at 5pm.
