Joshua Spencer Obituary

Joshua Paul Spencer, 36, of Sanford, Maine died suddenly on December 9th, 2022.  He was born on August 27th, 1986 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH.

Josh grew up in Sanford, Maine where he went to school and was active in the Boy Scouts of America.  In his high school years, he moved to Bridgton, Maine where he graduated from Lake Region High School and Vocational Center.  He loved woodworking and won awards in a statewide competition.  Josh went on to become a carpenter and worked with Shawn Hanson Construction, building houses, for many years.

Josh loved to be outside.  He loved hunting and especially fishing.  It didn't matter if it was summer or winter Josh had fishing gear in his vehicle.  You never knew when he would stop by and bring you a trout for dinner.

Above all Joshua loved his family and friends.  Pretty much everyone who met him grew to love him. He had a great sense of humor and was often the life of the party.  His smile would light up a room when he walked in.  When Josh loved you, he loved you hard and would do pretty much anything he could for you.  He put other's needs ahead of his own.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; his sons, Gaven, Tobey, Lukas and Brantley; Stepsons, Joshua Marsolais and Michael Dagati.  He is also survived by his father, Barry Spencer Jr. and stepmother Diane of Sanford, Maine and his mother,  Vicki Schaller and stepfather Michael Quigley of Lebanon, Maine.  He will be greatly missed by his brothers, Barry and twin Daniel; his stepsisters Jen, Rebecca, Mandi, Stephanie, Brigette, Melissa, Jackie and Lindsey and stepbrother Michael.  He is also survived by his grandparents, Barry and Clarine Spencer, Paul Brousseau and Ann Collie.  He will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Josh was blessed with a bonus family of his choice, the Lane family and Ryan Andela who will remember him with love.  Josh is predeceased by two infant sons, Landon and Maddiux.

A Celebration of Joshua's Life will be held on Saturday, January 7 at the Elks Lodge, 13 Elm St, Sanford, ME 04073 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  A light luncheon will be served.
