Jimmy A. Stewart, 71, died at his home in Somersworth, New Hampshire, on Thursday, June 5th, 2025. He valiantly fought and actively lived through his cancer diagnosis from just over two years ago. His body had finally had enough.
One of his favorite hobbies his children remember him enjoying was fishing. Jimmy was Jr. Vice President of the VFW Somersworth Auxiliary #4485 and a member of the Somersworth Eagles. Though retired "he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone, at any time, and in his own words 100 miles an hour.” His favorite quote when you annoyed him was “Beat it.” His body may have had enough but his spirit for life here with family and friends helped him daily push onward.
He is predeceased by his parents David and Margery Stewart, his son Mark Stewart, and brothers David (Butch), Robert (Bobby), and Danny Stewart.
Surviving is his daughter, Susan Stewart; son Jimmy A. Stewart Jr. and his wife Rachael; grandchildren, Jay & Ryan Currier, Brianna Merrill, Kamilyah and Kayden Stewart and two bonus children, Tyrone and Latoya, all from Florida; his son Jimmy A. Stewart II; sister, Margaret (Peggy) and husband Andy Kilgore from Somersworth, New Hampshire; brother Rick & wife Babette Stewart of Lincolnton, North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews that will greatly miss their Uncle Jimmy. He also leaves many friends, his dearest one being Bob that will miss spending time with him on a regular basis. He was loved by so many! We look forward to seeing him in heaven one day.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 1 pm at the VFW, 43 High Street, Somersworth, NH 03878.
