Jerry Baron Obituary

Jerry A. Baron, 63 of North Berwick passed away September 6th at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

He was born in Laconia, NH, son of Raymond and Jeannette (Carrigan) Baron. Jerry graduated from Belmont HS and attended HVAC trade school.  For 30 plus years, he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, starting as a pipefitter and retiring as a planner.  Jerry spent many years coaching his kids’ Little League teams to bond or embarrass, depends on who you ask!  He loved the outdoors and spent many years hunting and fishing.  The ‘big moose hunts’ were his favorites.

His retirement years brought many new adventures. That prized 68 Firebird was his baby. He loved working on it and cruisin’ with Rachel and Miss Molly.  Jerry was a perfectionist when manicuring his massive yard. He loved to putter and could build or fix just about anything. He liked game nights and traveling to visit friends and family.  He loved beer with his buddies.  His greatest love was for his family, being the best, fun-loving Papa in the world to his 11 grand babies.  His Motto - rile ‘em up and send ‘em home!  Jerry the instigator, the perfectionist, generous, humorous, fun-loving guy will be sorely missed by so many.  But those who loved him most will remember him as the Professor of the “Method of Jerry”.  His way was always the correct way!

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jeannette Baron, his bonus parents, Malcolm and Theresa Swain and his first wife of 32 years, Tammy Baron.  He will be forever loved by his wife of 10 years, Rachel (Grant-Rogers) Baron; sons Jeremy (Holly) Baron and Eric (Jennifer) Baron; daughter Tonya (Darin) Thomas; stepsons, Justin (Lisa) Rogers and Josh (Katie) Rogers; brothers and sisters Michelle Baron; Malcolm (Theresa) Swain,  Caron (Barry) Beard, Charon Duranleau, Terry (Catherine) Swain, Liberte (Michael) Dragon, Johnathan (Ruth) Swain, Laura (Shane) Pillsbury, and 11 cherished grandbabies, Brooke, Riley, Sasha, Willow, Max, Brady, Piper, Mitchell, Logan, Henry, and Brynlee; and of course, his rescue side kick, Molly.

But for now, “He’s off like a herd of turtles and a pack of rats”

Jerry wanted no funeral but a Celebration of his life.  Join the family on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1pm at his home. Please BYO….. chair, drink, a dish to share and some fun stories.
