Jennifer "Jan" L. (Piader) Burke

Jennifer L. (Jan) Burke of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of North Berwick, ME, died Feb 10, 2021 at Bon Secours Hospital in Greenville, SC after a brief illness. She was born Nov 8, 1945 in Rochester, NH, the daughter of Edward J and Dorothy Piader.

She graduated from Berwick High School in 1965 and subsequently attended the University of Maine Augusta where she earned her Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies.

Jennifer married Arthur J Burke, Jr, in 1980 while living in North Berwick. She worked at Camp Waban in Sanford, ME as a teacher for special needs children for several years, which was her passion. She later moved to Ocala, FL in 1989 and worked for HeadStart, once again serving the local children, who were very dear to her heart. They retired to Simpsonville, SC in 2009 to be near her daughters and grandchildren. Jennifer was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spent her life traveling, reading, shopping, and visiting with her friends and family. She was known for going above and beyond in her love and care for her people and lived for the Christmas season, spending all year preparing for it. She loved collecting intricate glass perfume bottles and jewelry. If she got wind that you needed a new pair of shoes (or anything), she'd have it waiting for the next time you saw her. She was Mom, Grammy, and Gigi. She will be missed very much.

She is survived by her daughters - Robyn Yeaton Fondry(and husband John) of Easley, SC, and Pamela Yeaton Ambuhl (and husband Mark) of Simpsonville, SC - as well as five granddaughters and six great grandchildren.

Jennifer will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick, ME.
