Janice Marie Ouellette

NORTH BERWICK,  Janice Marie Ouellette passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024 at Bella Point in Freeport, Maine.  She was born on April 1, 1948 in Beverly, Massachusetts, daughter of John and Beatrice Lappas.

She grew up in Lynn, MA and graduated from English High School.  After graduating she worked as a hairdresser for many years in Swampscott, MA and then worked in payroll for Bensen Shoe Factory in Lynn, MA. Later on she met her husband to be and lived in Lynn until 1987 when they moved to North Waterboro, Maine.  She loved being close to her grandchilden.  

Before going in the nursing home she loved going for car rides all over looking at all the pretty sights.  She loved to have family visits.  She loved to read murder/mystery and romance books and word search books.  She was also a big fan of Ed Sheeren.  Her favorite color of all time was purple.  She liked game shows and movies but most of all Bingo games.  She was a master of it and was always winning prizes.  She was an avid collector of teddy bears and loved to knit and chrochet.

She is predeceased by her husband, Gerard Edward Ouellette, parents John and Beatrice Lappas, and two brothers, John and Wayne Lappas. She was married to Gerard in 1977 and lived as husband and wife for over 43 years.

She is survived by her step-son Tim Ouellette and his wife Dianna Ouellette of Parsonsfield, ME, her step-son Scott Ouellette and girlfriend Heather Dunstan of Rowley, MA,  and step-daughter Lisa Ouellette Jackson and husband Scott Jackson of Perkinsville, VT.  She leaves behind 8 grandchildren:  Meagan, Brittany, Abigail, Elizabeth, Emily, Danielle, Garrison, and Hannah as well as 2 Great-Grandchildren, Forrest and Ella. And who can forget  her beloved pet dog, Lucky, who she loved very much.

Janice was one of the sweetest people you would ever know. She had a big heart and was full of love for everyone.

We want to thank Bella Point Nursing Home and all the staff for taking care of our mom.  We also want to thank Compasas Hospice staff for the excellent care they gave Janice. The staff all loved her and enjoyed spending time with her.
