Irma Rose Obituary

May 06, 2018
North Berwick, Maine

Irma L. Rose, 85 of North Berwick passed away peacefully Sunday, May 6, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Boston, MA, January 5, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Anne (Robinson) Simpson and was a proud graduate of Berwick Academy in South Berwick.

Irma married Ervin Rose in 1952, after he enlisted in the Army and together raised their family in North Berwick. They enjoyed camping together but especially square dancing and were members of the Silhouette Squares in the 1970's. She worked in various shoe shops in the area then retired from the Receiving Department of Hussey Seating in North Berwick to care for her ailing mother.

Irma was a strong and willful but kind and loving mother and Nana who simply adored all 5 generations of her family. She loved nature and its surroundings and all of the animals it held. She cherished those sounds while working in her gardens.

Irma was an active member of her community in many ways. She was a member of the fireman's auxiliary, one of the very first EMT's for the North Berwick Rescue Squad and Past President and member of the Noble High School Quarterback Club where she volunteered for numerous years but was blessed to have so many "kids" she helped raise. Her caring nature touched many lives throughout the years.

Irma was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Ervin Rose in 2011. Surviving are her son Dana Rose and his companion Lisa Bedell of North Berwick; 2 daughters, Pamela Nelson and her companion William Cameron, Jr., of Sanford and Patricia Leach and her husband David of Berwick; 2 brothers, Lawrence Simpson and his wife Lucy of Barrington, NH, James Nason and his wife Cindy of South Berwick; 2 sisters, Patricia Pray of Yuma, AZ and Lorna Pippin and her husband Roderick of Sanford. She will be missed by her 9 grandchildren, Stacy and Mary Adams, Cory and Stacey Adams, Amanda and Phil Langlais, Ruby and John Geno, Eam and Ana Rose, Tarie and William Kereluk III, Jason Morton and Sarah Clifford, Melissa Morton, Heather and William Currier; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and especially her beloved cat, Babes".
