Hubert Reeves Obituary

Hubert Linwood Reeves of Tatnic Road, was called home to be with his Lord, Sunday, March 15, 2020.

He was born October 20, 1927 in Wells at his family farm to John and Lois (Bedell) Reeves; the 4th of 9 children.  He attended Wells Schools and enlisted in the United States Army in 1945.

He married Pauline Gordon on August 2, 1947; married 52 years and raised three children.  Linwood was the eldest member and Deacon of the South Berwick and Wells Christian Church.  He and his wife were faithful servants to the Lord throughout their lives.

Linwood worked for over 43 years at Hussey Seating Company and was the first person to be given the position of Supervisor. He enjoyed many years spending time at his son’s campground on Chesuncook Lake, hunting and fishing.

Due to his childhood passion for flying, Linwood earned his pilot’s license at the Sanford Airport.  He owned his own plane and enjoyed flying with his brother Paul.  He was a self-taught guitarist; always singing country and gospel music with a special request for “The Old Tin Cup.”  Linwood always took the opportunity to share his faith not only with his family but with everyone he met.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Linwood Peter and Pamela Reeves; Beverly and Wayne Hasty of South Berwick; Billy and Sandra Reeves of Millinocket; 9 grandchildren, Jill Streeter, Bobbie Reeves, Corenna Reeves, Candice and Michael Gagnon, Karie and Thomas Lee, Kelly and Julian Black, Ryan and Jennifer Reeves, Kimberly and Benjamin Bate, Jason Hasty and Jennifer Wheeler; 14 great-grandchildren, Cody, Brody Aliyah, Zackery, Tyler, Finson, Ashtin, Gavin, Ava, Kayla, Madison, Victoria, Coralena and Wesley.   Linwood was pre-deceased by his wife Pauline, siblings Herbert, Paul, Forest, Stanley, Lois and Wayne Reeves and Ruth Welch; daughter in law, Janet (Coombs) Reeves and great-grandsons, John and Leo.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 2PM at the South Berwick and Wells Christian Church, 612 Emery’s Bridge Road, South Berwick, ME 03908.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Berwick and Wells Christian Church, 90 Thurrell Road, South Berwick, ME 03908
