Born in Orono Nov 5,1936 to his parents Eleanor Sweatt and Wendell Mosher. He graduated from Orono High School in 1954, then went on to receive a degree in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Maine at Orono, then on to a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State.
He married Joyce Robinson in 1963 and they had one son, Norman Mosher. He moved back to Maine in 1997. He was a member of the North Jay Grange, the M.O.A.Ls (Maine Obsolete Auto League) and the American Society of Dowsers.
Hank was a gentle and kind man who learned to love late in his life and found that with his surviving, loving companion Darlene Chadbourne of Wells. He loved antique trains, engines, cars, museums and history. He loved fixing things and making them work again and was passionate about dowsing, UFOs and alternative energy.
Henry (Hank) is survived by his son, Norman Mosher of Kent, Connecticut, sisters Athalie Southard, Susan Toms and Sara Giesmann, their spouses, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins along with many friends who appreciated his stories, humor and gentleness. Those who passed before him include his parents, sister Ruth Harlow and Joyce Mosher.
Hank is best remembered as a gentle soul, a gifted dowser, a curious UFO-ologist, an avid square dancer and a brilliant engineer who never saw a project he thought he couldn’t fix.
