Gordon T. Adams, 94 of the Lodges, passed away peacefully July 9, 2024. He was born June 1, 1930, in Berlin, NH, the son of George W Sr. and Florida (Currier) Adams. Born and raised in Berlin, he then served in the U.S. Army. Gordon worked at Converse as well as Maintenance for the NH Vocational Technical College in Berlin NH.
In 2012, he and his wife, Madeleine, moved to Springvale, ME from Berlin, NH to be closer to family. He enjoyed being so close to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gordon loved hunting and fishing. Not only was he a wonderful storyteller, but he was also a great listener and teacher. He especially loved hearing of his son and great-granddaughter’s cross-country hiking trips and other travel stories from his friends and family.
Gordon loved spending time at and helping to do the maintenance on his friend Donald’s camp, at Greenough Lodge located in the Township of Wentworth, NH. They had many wonderful trips there.
Gordon was pre-deceased by his wife, Madeleine (Gingras), of 58 years in 2015. He was also pre-deceased by his parents, George W. Sr and Florida Adams, his sister Dorothy (Oleson) Roberge, his brother Edward (aka Chick) Oleson, and his twin brother George Adams Jr.
Surviving are his son, Thomas Adams and his wife Patricia of Springvale, ME; daughter Pamela Adams and her partner Andrew Najberg of Weare, NH; 3 grandchildren, Karen Adams of Springvale, ME, Joshua Adams and his wife Danielle of Wells, ME, and Daniel Adams of Springvale, ME; 6 great-grandchildren, Annalee, Samuel, Misty, Abraham, Aaron and Jamie, several nieces and a nephew, and his best friend, Donald Couture of Berlin, NH.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Gordon’s name to The Maynard House, 17 South Street, Hanover, NH 03755, or on their website MaynardHouse.org/support. Gordon and Madeleine often stayed at this respite house while she received cancer treatments.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24th, 2024, at 11:00am at St. Anne’s Church/Good Shepherd Parish. St. Anne’s is located at 345 Pleasant Street, Berlin, NH 03570. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
