George Herbert Fogg

George Herbert Fogg passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on May 22, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1939, in Abbot Village, Maine, to Gertrude and Herbert Fogg. George was a longtime resident of Kennebunk, Maine, where he shared 56 years of cherished companionship with his beloved wife, Ingrid.

He is survived by his devoted wife Ingrid, his son Erich and daughter-in-law Kris Fogg, his daughter Sarah and son-in-law David Matarese, and his three adored grandchildren, Gabby Fogg, Ryan, and Bella Matarese.

George graduated from Piscataquis High School in 1957 before pursuing both a bachelor's and master's degree in business at Western New England University. He dedicated the majority of his career as a buyer for Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, Connecticut, while raising his family in Agawam, MA. Actively engaged in Agawam Athletics, George coached baseball and basketball, and was a proud member of the  "coaches club." In 1994, he returned to Maine, retiring from Pratt to establish himself as a sales representative for George Fogg Associates.

George lived by several guiding principles: he believed Ted Williams was the best there ever was, Larry Bird should always take the last shot, Geoff Bodine had the fastest car, Johnny Cash's music was akin to gospel, and if a glass of red wine was beneficial, the entire bottle must be even better. Above all, he held his family in the highest regard. His grandchildren brought him immense pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to support them in their endeavors.

George's presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering loyalty will endure through the lives he touched and the memories he created.

A celebration of life service will be held in memory of George on August 10th, 2024, at 11am at Sea Road Church, 140 Sea Rd, Kennebunk, ME 04043.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to York Hospital, 1 Loving Kindness Way, York, ME 03909.
