George W. Brogan, 89, of Kent Street, passed away September 28, 2023 after a brief illness.
He was born February 22, 1934 in Lowell, MA, son of Leo and Evelyn (Nado) Brogan. George attended Thornton Academy before serving in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years as a jet engine mechanic.
George loved planes and had a large collection of large model planes which decorated his home; some of which he enjoyed flying at the Blueberry Plains.
After his military career, George worked on the Alaska pipeline. He and his wife, Donna loved fishing and spending time together. George was a member of the V.F.W. and Sanford Amvets and was proud to be part of a rifle team, taking part in military funeral honors.
George leaves behind his wife of 13 years, Donna (Moran) Brogan of Sanford and son Scott Brogan of Florida.
A memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, October 13 at 1pm at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road, Springvale, ME.
