Frances (Fran) J. (Mauzerolle) Banks

 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Jean Banks (Mauzerolle). She left us on February 11, 2025, at the age of 78. In her final hours, she was surrounded by love and supported by family.

Born on October 12, 1946, Fran was a lifelong resident of York County, Maine. Those who knew her will remember her as a hard-working, straight shooter who always had somewhere to be or something that needed to be done. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she took pride in all that she did, making sure everyone around her was well-fed, safe, and cared for.

Whenever you entered Fran's home, you were offered a drink, treat, or trinket that she thought you might enjoy, even if she didn't. She would putter around her kitchen with Monk on the TV and her phone ringing every few minutes. There was always someone calling to check in or get some of Fran's ever-so-direct advice.

She lived with humility, facing life's challenges with resilience, and will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Kevin Banks, and her life partner, Fred Strew, whom she loved dearly and missed every day. She is survived by her children, Ronald Strew, Rebecca Goodale, and Shelley Phillips, her ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

May she rest in peace, forever in the hearts of those she loved.

Instead of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Fran's name to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital.

A celebration of her life will be held at the American Legion in Springvale, Maine from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on March 8, 2025.
