F. Harlan Clock, Jr. Obituary

F. Harlan Clock, Jr., 89, of Alfred passed away June 1, 2021 at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford.

He was born October 6, 1931, son of Frank Harlan Clock and Nellie (McGall) Clock.  Harlan was a graduate of Hamilton High School in Hamilton, MA and earned his degree from Essex Agricultural.  He was a proud farmer, through and through; owning and operating the dairy farm known as “Tic Toc Farm”.  He loved attending the local fairs and was presented with an award for his farming.  He proudly served in the U. S. Army in Korea.

Harlan was an unassuming, quiet, stoic type of man with tons of moral fiber (without wearing it on his shirtsleeve) but a rock-steady presence in the lives of those who loved him.   He was a member of the Bethel Christian Church and the Bauneg Beg Grange in North Berwick.  Harlan drove bus for MSAD #60 for several years and enjoyed the kids on his bus.

Sail on Dad, Papa, enjoy that Big (Jersey Cow) Dairy farm in the sky, (where the butterfat content is 8%!)  Thank you for your service to our country and being an amazing role model to all of us.

Harlan was predeceased by his first wife, Pearl (Blaquiere) Clock in 1972.

Harlan will be sorely missed by his wife of 46 years, Shirley (McGlone) Clock of Alfred; 5 sons, Harlan Clock III and wife Kathy of Sanford, Edward Bruce Batal and wife Deb of  Sanford, Dale Clock of North Berwick, Joal Batal and wife Jennifer of Washington, DC, Kevin Clock and wife Amy of Lyman; 2 daughters, Karen Fitton of Vassalboro, Nancy Sholler and husband David of Wells; 2 sisters, Betty Bothwell of Massachusetts, Sandra Barton and husband Chuck of Hamilton, MA; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

An hour of visitation will be held Monday, June 7 from 11am to 12pm immediately followed by the funeral at 12pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME.  Interment to follow with military honors in Hillside Cemetery, North Berwick.
