Eugene E. Langlois, 87, of Dover, went to be with the Lord December 7, 2023 at his daughter’s home, surrounded by family.
He was born April 22, 1936 in Newmarket, NH, one of 7 children born to Nelson and Lelia (Guevin) Langlois. Gene served in the U. S. Airforce overseas where he found the perfect engagement ring for his soon to be bride, Madeline George. They raised their family in the Dover area where he worked for General Electric as a quality inspector.
During his school years, Gene began his lifelong love for music. He sang in high school musicals, played guitar and harmonica. He and his wife Madeline sang in the church choir at St. Georges Church in Dover, NH, where they were members and he often played the organ.
Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting and target shooting in his free time. His love of music and life will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Doris and Rita; 4 brothers, Raymond, Wilfred, Gerard and Robert Langlois. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Madeline Langlois of Dover, NH, his daughter Kathleen Cote and husband Blain of Sanford, ME; 5 grandchildren, Emily Kopko and husband Jordan of Somersworth, NH, Evan Cote, Eric Cote and wife Mercy, Elizabeth Cote and Elisha Cote all of Sanford; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kenley, Adelynn and Casen Kopko and Oliver Cote.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 10am at the Calvary Baptist Church, 47 High Street, Sanford, ME. Interment will be in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, ME. Friends who wish may contribute to the Calvary Baptist Church, 47 High Street, Sanford, ME 04073.
