Eugene J. Cheney, Sr.

Eugene J. Cheney, Sr. 60 of Pleasant Street, passed away November 25, 2021 at Mass General Hospital after a period of failing health.

 He was born July 15, 1961 in Livingston, NH, the son of Hartley and Mary (Ensor) Cheney.  The family moved to South Berwick when Eugene was a boy.  He was a graduate of Marshwood High School before proudly serving in the U.S. Coast Guard where he was a mechanic.  Upon returning home, Eugene continued a life-long career as a mechanic, working on everything from boats and small engines.

 Eugene was an avid outdoorsman enjoying both hunting and fishing.  He was also a Patriots fan.  Eugene attended the Eliot Baptist church.

 Eugene was pre-deceased by his parents.  Surviving are his son, Eugene Cheney, Jr. of South Berwick and his sister, Lisa Nelson of Blacksburg, SC. 

 A memorial service is being planned for a later date.  Interment will be in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, ME.
