Elizabeth Lane Obituary

Elizabeth Anna Kimball Paul Lane, born April 17, 1936, died January 31, 2026 peacefully in Dover, NH, with her family by her side.

Born at the Kimball homestead in Tatnic, South Berwick, Maine to Harry and Ethel Kimball.  Elizabeth was one of twelve children, 6 brothers and 5 sisters.  She lived in South Berwick in her early years and later moved to North Berwick.  She graduated from Old Orchard High School where she lived for one year.

She married Robert “Bob” Lane in 1958 and they had 2 children together, Dawn and Matthew.  She also had a step-daughter Carol.  She lived in South Berwick for most of her years.

She babysat in her home when the kids were young, waitressed at the Snack Bar and later worked at Central School as a librarian until her retirement.  She always loved children and mentored many while she was there.  Many of them still speak of her with genuine fondness.

She enjoyed reading, camping, and skiing and was a part of the original Powder House Hill Ski Association where many hours were spent skiing and maintaining the “Hill” with Bob and several other families.  She later became involved with the Strawberry Festival Association and a very active member of the Senior Center.  She clogged and line danced, worked at the luncheons and enjoyed the friends she had there.
She was also a member of Eastern Star.
She loved to laugh and initiated many fun activities with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Clayton Paul and her second husband Robert “Bob” Lane; siblings:  Viola, Laurence, Clarence, Russell, David, Warren and Lillian.

She is survived by her children Dawn and her husband Ken Tibbetts, Matthew and his wife Rebecca Lane, Carol Gormley.   Grandchildren Brianna, Sarah, Matthew, Robert, Shannon and step grandchildren, Kelley, Dan, Jay and John.  Her siblings Calvin, Janet, Natalie and Mandy.  She had many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.

We would like to thank Wentworth Hospice Services for their loving care of Mom.  A big thanks also to the people of The Residence at Silver Square in Dover, NH for their amazing care, the love and support they offered through-out her stay.  We will be forever grateful!
