Edna Broderick Obituary

Edna V. Broderick of North Berwick, ME, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Edna was born on January 18, 1943, in Malden, MA, the daughter of George and Mary (Healey) Power. She grew up in Medford, MA, where she attended St. James Elementary and Girls Catholic HS.

She retired after working for over 40 years in the insurance business in Boston.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her amazing sense of humor always kept them laughing.

Edna is survived by her siblings: George Power, Brenda DeNinno, Kevin Power and his wife Patricia, and Mary Power-Burke and her husband Paul.  Two children: Laurie Ballard and her husband David, Gary Broderick, and his wife Ivanka.  Four grandchildren: Julia Stanton and husband Brandon, Aaliyah Gaudet and her husband Tyler, Thomas Ballard, and Grayson Broderick.  Four great-grandchildren: Wesley Stanton, Charlotte Stanton, Oliver Stanton, and Jace Gaudet. Nieces and nephews: Karen DeNinno-Li, Theresa Power, Emily Power, Kathleen Power, Matthew Power-Burke, and Samantha Burke.

Edna was loved by her entire family and will be remembered by all who knew her.

A private service will be held on Thursday, March 20th, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Edna’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO BOX 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
