Edith E. (Rhodes) Allen

Edie Allen, 92, passed away peacefully on November  3, 2021 at Avita Assisted Living of Wells.

 She was born in South Berwick, July 7, 1929 the daughter of Ernest and Erma (Hamilton) Rhodes.  She worked very hard all her life at different area establishments.  She was an avid knitter; loved her Saturday morning coffee at Dunkin Donuts with friends and loved her many dachshund dogs throughout her life.

 Edie is survived by one devoted son, Clifford and his wife Pamela of Cape Neddick; two grandchildren, Kristi Maling and her husband Nathan of Cape Neddick and Kelli Hitchcock and her husband Chris of Etna, ME; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Nicholas, Karli Maling and Caleb Hitchcock.  She is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Mathews of South Berwick; half brother Emerson Rhodes of VA and two half-sisters, Lucy and Cynthia

 She was predeceased by her husband Ward A. Allen and her brothers Roland and Donald and two half sisters, Hazel and Irene.

 The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Avita and friends for their support thru these difficult last years.

 An hour of visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9 from 10 to 11 AM immediately followed by a funeral at 11AM at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME.  Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in South Berwick, ME.  Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
