Donald Newton Obituary

Donald H. Newton, 73 of Meehan Lane passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at home November 14, 2022 after a two year battle with cancer.

He was born August 11, 1949 in Boston, MA, the son of Malcolm and Thelma (Andrus) Newton.  After graduating from Norwell High School, Donald proudly served in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam Era.  He was a dispatcher in Air Cargo, in charge of getting the troops to the aircrafts. His last assignment was at Pease Air Force Base.

Donald was very mechanically inclined and loved tinkering with electronics.  He was employed as an Electrician for Velcro in Somersworth for 12 years then retiring from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 23 years.  Don was one of the first employees with his badge #72.

First and foremost, Don loved his spending time with his family.  He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed helping his family with their projects as well as remodeling his own home.

He was pre-deceased by his first wife and the mother of his children, Diane Newton.  He is survived by his wife of  21 years, Dorothy (Lachance) Newton of North Berwick; 3 sons, Leonard Newton, Kenneth Newton and wife Tina, all of Lebanon, ME; Shawn Newton and wife Joy of Milton, NH; Jesse Morin and wife Shellie of Sanford, ME; brother David Newton and wife Nilma of Georgia, his twin brother Ronald Newton and wife Judy of Massachusetts; sister Sandra Orcutt and husband Bruce of New York, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
