Born May 31, 1929 passed away at the age of 93 at Pinnacle of North Berwick. On September 9, 2022. Son of Jasper and Hazel Guptill.
A life long resident of Berwick, Maine. Born and raised on Diamond Hill rd. On the first farm in Berwick. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He wasn’t one to ever sit still for very long. He took such pride in the land around him. Growing an assortment of fruits and vegetables. He liked to tinker on things always.
Mostly he liked to have great conversations with anyone that would spend time. Or as he called it ,”shooting the bull”.
He spent several years working as a machinist at Clarostat in Dover, before starting at Thompson Center Arms in Rochester, NH. He and his brother were the first workers to be hired . That is where he retired from, after many many years.
Donald was one of six siblings, of which he is the last. Geneva, Elenor, Stanley, Evelyn, and Olive.
Donald was predeceased by his wife Ida of 61 years. He had 3 children, Brenda Merrill Souza, and Mike Souza. Robert Merrill and wife Mary Merrill. Donna Guptill Tibbetts, and late husband Lennie Tibbetts. Grandchildren, Ariane Train, Aaron Whittier, Lindsay Tibbetts, and his late granddaughter Brittany Tibbetts, Elsa Merrill.
Great grandchildren, Zachary and Tanner Hodges, Addison and Emerson Puleio. And Many Nieces and nephews who thought the world of him., and special faithful friends, Steve and Zoa Guptill
Donald overcame many struggles throughout his life to create a wonderful family and a beautiful comfortable home for all. He had a very generous heart.

Donald will be missed!! But will be greeted by so many friends and family…. Another angel added to the heavenly tree.
A grave side service will be held Saturday September 17th at 11am at Evergreen Cemetery Berwick,Maine
